Eric Clapton - Layla (Rainbow Concert)

Sailing down behind the sun,
Waiting for my prince to come.
Praying for the healing rain
To restore my soul again.

Just a toe ride on the run.
How did I get here?
What have I done?
When will all my hopes arise?
How will I know him?
When I look in my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.
When I look in my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.

Then the light begins to shine
And I hear those ancient lullabies.
And as I watch this seedling grow,
Feel my heart start to overflow.

Where do I find the words to say?
How do I teach him?
What do we play?
Bit by bit, I“ve realized
That“s when I need them,
That“s when I need my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.
That“s when I need my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.

Then the jagged edge appears
Through the distant clouds of tears.
I“m like a bridge that was washed away;
My foundations were made of clay.

As my soul slides down to die.
How could I lose him?
What did I try?
Bit by bit, I“ve realized
That he was here with me;
I looked into my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.
I looked into my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.

My father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.
I looked into my father“s eyes.
My father“s eyes.

since you are not a musician, that is why you don't understand it. you're just a simple listener. that is why when you view a moment like this of a gathering of these great musicians, you cannot understand why they are more than one in a single instrument. just stick to your listening and don't mind the players. they don't matter with your knowledge anyway.

@Arquilian121799 wow how arrogant. its the blues its simple i mean c;mon the allmans used those drums it wasnt just for show. rock and roll is dead due to this sad nostalgic loss, but get over it everyone should play what they want to hear. and yes i am a musician, and i dont believe in having 2 drums if you cant hear the guitarists even (cough derek). this is pitiful that all thats left of this era is doubt and fear when it was all love. its depressing and redundant now.

@neffzilla okee-dokey...I just get a bit over-protective when it comes to people judging others for the way they look. I am by no means a beauty queen...but I'm not a total dog...if you get my drift. And I love that you play guitar---I'm the proud sister of a guy who plays harmonica and the man jams like no one else I've heard. Bless you and your guitar!

A lot of bands use this technique to vary the feel of the beat. The two drummers can play off of each other with complimentary rythms and beats. Sort of the same way there might be two vocalists (one in harmony with the other...)
